Topic: How does public funding affect the achievement of educational outcomes?

With education often judged to be an important factor for economic growth, analyse how government expenditure improves or detracts from what the education system can achieve.

Students should consider and explain two to three key educational outcomes that a system should achieve, and discuss how public funding can affect their attainment, using domestic and/or international precedent and best practice to justify their position.

Keep a lookout on our social media for the release of our online workshop to help get those ideas flowing.

Submit 1500-2000 words exploring this year’s topic, and be in the running to WIN the Grand Prize of $500 cash!

First-year students are also eligible for a special prize of $250, awarded to the best first-year submission.

The competition is open to any student at the University of Melbourne, or Monash University.

Submit entries to [email protected] by 11:59pm, Friday 5 August.
