Sam O'Connor
Sam is a first year JD student at the University of Melbourne, and is unusual amongst ESSA committee members in that he doesn’t even study Economics. This is mostly due to his deep and abiding dislike for mathematics, which led him to major in History and Politics instead during his arts degree. He joined ESSA due to his interest in public policy and writing, and serves as Chief Editor. Previously, he was a part of the Staff of Writers in 2015, enabling him to write about his twin obsessions of American politics and soccer.
In his spare time, Sam enjoys reading books that he realistically will never finish, attending sporting events, using Oxford commas, and drinking unhealthily large amounts of English Breakfast tea.
