Rebecca Satkunam

Rebecca is a third year Commerce student at the University of Melbourne, majoring in Economics and Marketing. She was drawn to economics because of its fundamental role in development, and its ability to be applied just about everywhere with a little creativity.

Rebecca joined ESSA to gain a perspective on economics that couldn’t be found in a classroom, and to be a part of a community that takes genuine interest in the role and potential of students. Being a part of ESSA has introduced her to a lot of new ideas and a lot of incredibly unique people who have made university a much more fulfilling experience.

Along with an interest in economics, Rebecca is known for an astounding ability to engage with the golden age of television, consuming tv shows at a rate that leaves others wondering, “How have you not flunked out of university yet?” While many still consider this a mystery, the reality is minimal sleep and true dedication to the cause.
