Lachlan Browning

Lachlan is currently in his third year of Commerce at the University of Melbourne, where he is completing a Finance major with a breadth sequence in Civil Engineering. His passion for economics sprouted after he discovered it applied a combination of his other loves – problem solving and mathematics – in order to resolve societal issues.

Lachlan joined ESSA with the goal of bringing students an opportunity outside of their course to learn about economics, with an explicit intention of attracting students outside the commerce discipline to ESSA events. Lachlan is now the Events Director for ESSA and hopes to bring ESSA members events that will educate them about different schools of economic thought and encourage economic pluralism.

In his spare time, Lachlan enjoys consuming caffeine in any form that it is available to him, playing soccer, listening to the 2003 Australian Idol final contestants and singing a little JB.
