Alex Qiang

Alex is a third year commerce student at the University of Melbourne majoring in economics and finance. His interest in economics stems from the attempts to decipher financial news when he was young and how fascinatingly crucial its roles are in society.

He joined ESSA wanting to meet like-minded individuals who work hard to promote economics. To engage with economics in a different manner and encourage logical discussions about this crucial topic. As an IT director, Alex hopes to support the society in achieving its goals by providing the right tools all the while trying not to break too many things.

In his spare time, Alex enjoys watching soccer passionately (some screaming involved), playing plenty of tennis and poorly fighting off his addiction to McDonald’s hash browns.
